How much does a Rolex cost?

I kind of thought about $8,000 or so, but I read that it can be a lot more than that. I really love Rolex-style watches - very chunky and bling. I think they look a lot better on girls than on boys - the Olsen twins being a perfect example of this. I don't love the Olsen twins, although I like watching old episodes of Full House from when they were little kids. It's funny comparing them to how they are now!

Back to Rolexs (how do you say Rolex plurally?), I read that the profits of sales go to charity, because when the founder died, he set up an organisation which controls the company and donates money to a whole bunch of different charities. Yet another reason to buy one!

Anyway, my own watch is pretty crappy. I got it from Forever 21 when I was in America this Christmas (I don't really like Forever 21 at all, although for basics like jeans they are good) and the paint is already starting to chip! I guess I couldn't expect much better for $1o. The strap is waaay too big, but because it's made of links I can't tighten it.

I guess I will just have to save up for a real Rolex (either that or a fake, which still costs about £30!!)

Idiosyncratic?

Quirky jewellery is undoubtedly the best kind - my favourite necklaces are all a little weird. The most obvious quirky accessories company is probably Tatty Devine. For Christmas my incredibly lucky younger sister got an amazing Dali-inspired necklace - it is a black plastic moustache on a chain. You can sort of see it below, although my cousin and I were just messing around with this picture, so it's not the best shot ever (I tried looking for the necklace today so I could get a proper photo, but my sister seems to have hidden it... damn her). This necklace is of course from Tatty Devine, for the slightly steep price of £20.

While doing some 'research' for art, I stumbled upon the website The Paper Doll, and through it I found Fancy Jewels. As well as normal jewellery, they do wedding rings. If I get married anytime soon (unlikely, seeing as I'm still in school and everything) I will most definitely order my ring from Fancy. Two of my favourite items are below. Very individual, and I like how simple they are.

Charlotte

Last night I had a sleepover with some friends, and we managed to get our hands on a DVD of I'm Not There. Sadly these particular people know very little about Bob Dylan (you kind of have to to get the film), and it was 2am, so they didn't want to watch the whole movie. But I did get to see a couple of scenes with Charlotte Gainsbourg, who plays Heath Ledger's wife (it was very sad to see him on screen). She was really good, and I remembered just how cool she was...

Charlotte very deservedly topped the Best Dressed List in Vanity Fair last September, and I'm sure that I'm Not There will boost her profile a little - it's her first mainstream(ish) Hollywood-type film. I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing...?

Couture & Me

I love couture, especially when it translates to real life. I was excited to see that Valentino used some long, brown satin gloves in one of his designs (pictured below) because I wore something very similar to my Barbie-themed birthday party that I had last year in October. I dressed as a 60's Barbie, and wore elbow length brown satin gloves that I picked out with my mom at the V&A's Golden Age of Couture exhibition gift shop - they were kind of expensive but sooo worth it. They definitely added something to my outfit, and I especially loved the quirky colour.

Although I love my gloves, you can see in this photo that they don't exactly fit perfectly - and they aren't entirely practical for everyday wear. At least I got to wear them once though, right?

Sugary delights

I almost never wear frilly, girly things (although I admire from afar - as long as it's all very tasteful/completely OTT - that's fun too!) but for some reason I am completely obsessed with cute little fairy cakes in pastel colours with little flowers on them, and that sort of thing. I can hardly bear to eat such beautiful, scrumptious treats, even if they are from somewhere crap, like Sainsbury's or Tesco (boring supermarkets, for those of you who are non-Brits)
Some lovely examples of perfect little cupcakes below:

If you are interested, check out this blog - it is all about cupcakes, which I though was pretty fabulous. I will most certainly be bringing my friends to these bakeries - and I am all inspired to add girly touches to my outfit for tomorrow...

Introductions

Let's get down to business. Well, I am Georgie and I live in London. I am a teenager and this is going to be all about fashion, my life, and my opinions.
Okay, firstly - my name is not actually Lilly. I'm not one of those people who thinks rapists/serial killers are going to find me if I put my first name and general (VERY general) location on the internet - it's more an issue of people I know finding this. I previously had a bad experience with all my friends reading my blog, and I simply don't want it to happen again.
This blog will be about my life, my opinions, and fashion. To be honest, I don't want to categorise it, because it can get annoying when you can't post about a certain thing because it doesn't have to do with your chosen supject. Hopefully I will not go completely off track, though, because that can be annoying for readers (I am hoping there will be at least a couple of those).
Will post something proper now. This was a boring one. Apologies!
